A City of Edinburgh Council senior manager was caught taking photographs of teenage girls on a train from Glasgow Central to Lanark on Saturday, July 4. Passengers confronted the man, seized his phone, and forced him to delete the images before he fled the train.
Incident Unfolds on Glasgow-Lanark Service
The man, described as having grey hair and glasses, was filmed by a female passenger as he took pictures of the teenage girls. In footage obtained by the Daily Record, the woman addresses the girls: "Excuse me girls, do you know this man? He is taking pictures of you. I've just caught him so I was just wondering."
A commotion ensued as the woman demanded the man delete the pictures. He swiped through his camera roll, revealing multiple images of the teens. Another woman grabbed the phone, calling him a "sick f***ing creep," and passed it to a man who attempted to delete the photos. The man tried to retrieve his phone but was prevented.
Passengers Confront and Expose the Man
The woman raged: "Leave that phone alone. Have you got any daughters? They wee girls are sitting there looking absolutely beautiful going on a night out and there is a creep like you taking pictures of them." A younger man demanded the passcode to delete all images; the man complied, protesting, "I don't know what I am meant to have done."
The younger man announced there were 12 photos of the teens on the phone. Passengers discussed calling the police before the man was given his phone back. The video ends as he runs towards the train exit.
