Tesco has announced a major change to its online grocery service, doubling the standard advance booking window for Home Delivery and Click+Collect to eight weeks. The move, effective from July 2026, is designed to help customers plan ahead during the busy summer holiday period.
According to Tesco, more than 1.1 million online grocery orders are made every week across the UK. The retailer says the extended booking window will allow customers to secure slots for celebrations, staycations, and social gatherings, including the August bank holiday, well in advance.
Booking Timeline and Availability
Priority slots will be released from July 14, with general slots becoming available from July 21. This extends the previous four-week view to eight weeks, giving customers more flexibility. For last-minute needs, Tesco offers same-day Home Delivery and Click+Collect slots, subject to availability. Additionally, same-day delivery will be available at no extra charge from selected stores until September 6, as reported by the Mirror.
Tesco's rapid delivery service, Whoosh, can deliver essentials in as little as 20 minutes, ideal for stocking up during the summer of sport.
Additional Services for Holidaymakers
The supermarket will also increase Click+Collect slots at stores near popular holiday destinations across the UK, making it easier for customers to collect essentials en route to their accommodation.

We want to make it easier for customers to get organised and plan ahead. That's why we're opening up eight weeks of Home Delivery and Click+Collect slots over the summer; giving customers more flexibility to book a time that works best for them to get what they need. We're also offering same-day delivery in more stores than last summer and have increased our Click+Collect availability in holiday hotspots to make sure we're there when customers need us."
