Dispersal Order at Langland Bay After Antisocial Behaviour

South Wales Police have introduced a dispersal order at Langland Bay, a popular beach in Wales, following a rise in reports of antisocial behaviour (ASB). The order aims to address issues affecting visitors and local communities during the recent hot weather.

Powers Granted Under the Order

Under the order, officers have additional powers to disperse groups involved in ASB in the Langland Bay area, helping to maintain public safety and ensure the area remains enjoyable. The designated area includes the nearby car park, with the full boundary shown in an official police map.

Duration and Enforcement

The order is in effect until 6pm on Friday, June 26. During this time, officers will patrol the area and respond to reports of disorderly behaviour. Inspector Simon Trick stated: "We want everyone to enjoy our beachfront areas in Swansea and the Gower during this hot weather, but they must be respectful of others around them."

Inspector Trick added: "Our officers are working with nearby community leaders to identify local ASB problems which require solving." The police aim to balance public enjoyment with safety as warmer temperatures attract large crowds to the coast.
