A father accused of murdering his own daughter on Christmas Day has broken his silence from prison, claiming her death was a devastating accident rather than a deliberate act.
Michael Wild, 54, appeared via video link from HMP Birmingham as he pleaded not guilty to murdering 21-year-old Emily Wild at their family home in Leicestershire on December 25th last year.
The courtroom heard emotional statements as Wild, speaking clearly from behind bars, insisted: "I am not guilty of murder."
Christmas Day Tragedy
The alleged incident occurred at the family residence in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, casting a dark shadow over what should have been a festive celebration. Emergency services were called to the property but despite their efforts, Emily was pronounced dead at the scene.
