Police have launched a public appeal for information after a teenage girl reported being harassed by a stranger at a Sainsbury's supermarket in Nottinghamshire.

Incident Details in Kimberley

The alleged harassment took place on Sunday, 9 November, at around 3pm. The 16-year-old victim was shopping at the Sainsbury's store on Greens Lane in Kimberley when she became aware of an unknown man staring at her intently.

The situation escalated when she left the supermarket. The same man then approached her outside the nearby Card Factory shop, causing her significant alarm.

Police Investigation and Public Appeal

Nottinghamshire Police were notified of the incident on the same day it occurred. After pursuing several lines of enquiry, investigators have now released a CCTV image of a man they urgently wish to speak to in connection with the event.

PC Olivia Pettitt, the officer leading the investigation, stated: "This behaviour is completely unacceptable and made the girl feel scared and intimidated." She emphasised that all reports of harassment and intimidation are treated with the utmost seriousness by the force.

Can You Help Identify This Man?

The police appeal is direct. "We really need the public’s help," said PC Pettitt. "We have released an image of a man that could help us further our investigation. Do you know the man in the image? Are you the man in the image? Please get in touch with us as soon as possible."

Anyone with information is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police immediately, quoting the relevant incident number. The release of the CCTV footage underscores the force's commitment to addressing public concerns about safety and intimidation in the community.
