Three fire engines were scrambled to The Gun Inn on Market Street, Hollingworth, at around 5pm on Monday (October 19) following reports of a collision and fire at the building, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said.
Firefighters extinguish blaze at pub entrance
Footage from the scene shows a damaged dark grey car billowing smoke after colliding with the entrance to the pub, as firefighters hose down the vehicle. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel and covering jet to extinguish the fire.
Police were also seen outside the building, with a cordon in place. The collision also appeared to affect traffic in the area. Footage from the aftermath of the fire shows traffic lights on the road "burnt to a crisp" and windows of the pub broken, according to one witness.
Emergency response and reopening
