Two Dead After Suspicious Explosion at Bristol House

Two people have died and three others, including a child, have been injured following an explosion at a house in Bristol, which police are treating as suspicious. The incident occurred in Sterncourt Road, Frenchay, at around 6.17am on Sunday.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to the property for a domestic-related incident, but before officers arrived, an explosion took place. Superintendent Matt Ebbs confirmed that a woman and a man died at the scene. Their families have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Three other individuals – a man, a woman and a child – were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Police have ruled out terrorism as a motive but are treating the cause as suspicious. A cordon has been set up, and nearby residents have been evacuated to a temporary rest centre at a local Harvester pub.
