The FBI is excavating a Philadelphia house linked to seven missing women after bones were found in the back garden, along with a safe whose contents remain unknown.
The property was formerly occupied by Raymond “R.C.” Horsch, a meth producer and creator of violent pornographic films, writings and images, and his son Eugene. Horsch died in May last year at the age of 82.
Discovery of Bones and Safe
On Thursday, searchers found bones in the backyard of the house. “Right now, it looks like soil samples,” Joseph Giacalone, a retired NYPD sergeant not involved in the case, told NBC10. “We saw them going in and taking some samples.”
Giacalone added: “And what they’ll do is, they’ll do it in different places, and they’ll do it at different depths to see if there’s any chemicals in there.”
Evidence Linked to Missing Women
Detectives have found images and videos at the house that appear to show two missing women — Gabrielle Amarando, last seen in September 2012 aged 22, and Maribel Fresses, who vanished in February 2018 aged 27 — alive inside the property and later seemingly deceased.
Law enforcement is also searching for Amy McHale, Horsch’s ex-wife and collaborator in his pornography, last seen in 2016, and Blair Tonzelli, who disappeared in 2022 and was reported missing in February 2023.
Other Victims and Ongoing Investigation
Several women who resided at or passed through the house later died after overdoses, including Krista Killen, described as a long-term companion of Horsch. Nicole Fusaro, 27, disappeared in 2018. In September this year, police described a video purportedly showing Horsch apparently strangling a woman with a zip tie, reportedly believed to be Fusaro.
A 25-year-old woman, whose family asked that she not be identified, and a female known as “Jane Doe” are also linked to the house. Eugene Horsch remains in federal custody after being charged with illegal firearms possession, but he has not been charged with causing harm to any of the women, and police have not publicly said whether he was part of his father’s pornography operation.
