Sixteen people were killed and over 100 injured in a series of attacks across Catalonia, Spain, on Thursday. The deadliest incident occurred in Barcelona's Las Ramblas district, where a van ploughed through crowds, killing 14, including two children. A Spanish man was later found stabbed to death in a hijacked car linked to the van attacker. In Cambrils, a woman was killed when attackers drove a car into tourists.

The victims came from 34 countries. Among the dead were two Argentinians: Silvina Alejandra Pereyra, 40, who held dual citizenship and lived in Barcelona, and Carmen Lopardo, 80, an Italian-born Argentine on holiday. Belgian postal worker Elke Vanbockrijck, 44, was also killed. Canadian Ian Moore Wilson, whose wife Valerie was injured, was identified by their daughter.
