Jules Hudson Back to Work After Family Health Scare

Escape to the Country presenter Jules Hudson has returned to social media two weeks after postponing a public appearance due to what he described as "a sudden and serious family illness." On Tuesday, the BBC star shared a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram, showing him enjoying a punting trip in Canterbury, Kent, and revealing that he is back at work.

Behind-the-Scenes Update

In the sun-soaked clip, Hudson films himself on a punt while giving fans a glimpse of his recent house hunt with a new couple for the show. "Well folks, here's a sneaky peak behind the scenes on a recent house hunt in Kent," he captioned the post. "Rest assured, if you join us on Escape to the Country, it's not all hard work and no play! Event Postponement Due to Family Emergency

Hudson's latest update comes a fortnight after he was forced to postpone a special event scheduled for June 16 at the Blake Theatre in Monmouth. In a heartfelt video and caption shared on June 16, the TV star explained the situation. "It's with huge regret that owing to a sudden and serious family illness we've had to postpone my evening this Friday at the Blake Theatre in Monmouth," he said. He confirmed that tickets could be refunded and announced a new date: Saturday, September 12. "It's hugely disappointing to have to change plans, but I hope you'll understand on this occasion, and hopefully we can all get together in a few short months. With thanks, and apologies once again, Jules."

Fan Support and Well Wishes

While Hudson has not provided further details about the family illness, fans have rallied around him with messages of support. One follower wrote, "I'm so sorry to hear that, Jules. Family will always come first. Take care." Another commented, "Sorry to hear your sad news. I hope everyone gets well soon. Big hug." A third added, "You are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. Blessings of love and light," while a fourth said, "Speedy recovery for your family member Jules."

Continued Work on Escape to the Country

Hudson's return to Instagram indicates he is resuming his duties on Escape to the Country, the long-running BBC series that helps prospective buyers find rural properties. The show continues to film new episodes, and Hudson's punting trip appears to be part of a promotional effort to encourage viewers to apply for the programme.
