Khloé Kardashian Slammed By Peta Over Cat Declawing

Khloé Kardashian has faced backlash after admitting she declawed her two cats, with animal rights group Peta condemning the procedure. The reality TV star revealed on her podcast that she was 'misadvised' and now fears her cats are 'miserable' as a result.

Declawing involves amputating the last bone of each toe and is banned or considered unethical in many countries. Dr. Linda Simon, a UK-based vet, told Tyla the procedure is 'unnecessary mutilation' and illegal under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 in Britain.

Kardashian said her cats, Gray Kitty and Baby Kitty, wear Air Tags and are not allowed near the door because they cannot defend themselves. 'I'm so afraid if they get out because they have no way to defend themselves,' she said.

The American Veterinary Medical Association strongly discourages declawing, noting that scratching is a normal feline behaviour for conditioning claws, marking territory, and self-defence. Fans have criticised Kardashian on social media, with one calling the act 'nasty and disgusting'.
