Armed police have swarmed a housing estate in Fife following an ongoing incident. Emergency services, including Police Scotland, raced to Walnut Crescent in the town of Methil this evening, Monday, August 24.
Firearm officers were among those in attendance. A police presence is understood to still be at the scene with the nature of the incident currently unknown. It also remains unclear how many people, if any, are involved, or if there have been any injuries.
Armed Officers at the Scene
Photos taken on the street, and shared with the Record, show officers in tactical gear holding rifles parked up outside a home. One armed cop is seen staked out in the back garden of one of the properties. Several firearm officers have also been recorded storming up the garden path of one house. Cop cars can be seen parked up on nearby streets.
Residents Gather as Police Respond
In another image, the street can be seen filling with spectators, as worried residents come out their homes to see what is happening. Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
