Met Police Offer £20,000 Reward in Hunt for Ladbroke Grove Shooting Suspect
£20k reward in London Ladbroke Grove shooting probe

Detectives from London's Metropolitan Police have issued a renewed public appeal, significantly increasing a reward to £20,000 for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for a shocking daytime shooting in the heart of Ladbroke Grove.

The incident, which sent ripples of fear through the West London community, occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, 22nd December 2022. A male victim was shot on the pavement of Barlby Road, a residential street, in what investigators believe was a targeted attack.

A Community Shocked by Daylight Violence

Officers and paramedics rushed to the scene following reports of a firearms discharge. They discovered a man, believed to be in his 20s, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to a major trauma centre for emergency treatment. Fortunately, his injuries were later assessed as not life-threatening.

The brazen nature of the attack, taking place in a populated area in the middle of the day, prompted a major investigation. Despite extensive enquiries, including forensic analysis and CCTV collection, the case has remained open.

A Renewed Push for Justice

In a significant move to galvanise public support, the independent charity Crimestoppers has now increased its reward to £20,000 for anonymous information that directly results in an arrest and charge. This substantial sum underscores the seriousness of the crime and the urgency with which police are treating the investigation.

Detective Sergeant Andy Swindells, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, stated: "This was a reckless shooting in a public place. We believe there are people who have information who have not yet come forward. This increased reward offers them a chance to do the right thing, completely anonymously, and help us take a dangerous individual off the streets."
