Former Crufts winner Lynda Cooper, 74, has been banned from keeping animals for a decade after RSPCA inspectors discovered 77 dogs living in squalid, neglectful conditions at her home in Pontypool, South Wales. Cooper admitted 11 animal welfare offences and breeding dogs without a licence.
Discovery of Neglect
Inspectors found 41 adult dogs and two litters of puppies at her property. The puppies suffered from malnutrition, severe dental disease, and untreated ear infections. Six of the older dogs had to be euthanized due to their poor health.
Legal Consequences
Cooper was handed a 10-year ban on keeping animals. The RSPCA described the conditions as 'filthy' and 'neglectful.' Cooper had previously won awards at Crufts, one of the world's most prestigious dog shows.
