Albanian Crime Gang Exploits Rightmove for Multi-Million Pound Burglary Campaign

A sophisticated Albanian criminal network has been sentenced to prison following an extensive burglary spree that netted approximately £3 million in luxury items. The group meticulously planned their crimes by utilising the property website Rightmove to examine floorplans of targeted residences across the United Kingdom.

Nationwide Targeting of Affluent Households

Cheshire Police confirmed the gang was connected to at least 59 high-value burglaries, specifically focusing on wealthy individuals to steal designer jewellery, premium watches, and exclusive handbags. Their operations spanned multiple police force areas in a deliberate attempt to evade detection.

Detective Sergeant Laura Fox stated, "All incidents were carefully orchestrated, with the gang conducting thorough research on their targets before executing the burglaries. They even expanded their criminal activities across various regions to avoid capture."

The criminals set weekly targets for gold theft and demonstrated a complete disregard for their victims, frequently boasting about their illicit achievements and sharing photographs of stolen goods.

Investigation and Arrests

The investigation commenced in October 2024 after Cheshire Police identified a series of burglaries in the eastern part of the county. Offenders typically used ladders to access first-floor windows and balconies before ransacking properties for valuables and cash.

Macclesfield detectives, collaborating with forces nationwide, linked the crimes through distinctive footwear marks left at multiple scenes. Surveillance revealed a red Ford Focus, insured by 30-year-old Kristian Gropcaj, was present during numerous incidents.

Analysis of telephone records showed Gropcaj maintained regular contact with other gang members, often meeting at a coffee shop in Birmingham's jewellery quarter.

Sentencing and Recovered Items

Four men received combined prison sentences exceeding 38 years at Chester Crown Court. The convicted individuals are George Pepa, 31, Kristian Gropcaj, 30, Krisjian Dedndreaj, 28, and Sidorjan Lleshi, 26. Endrit Nikolli, 29, awaits sentencing next Wednesday.

Jade Tubb, 33, who was in a relationship with Nikolli, received a one-year suspended sentence for two years for possession of criminal property after assisting the group.

During police raids, officers seized 13 designer handbags and 14 watches valued at nearly £17,000. Multiple mobile phones contained hundreds of images documenting the stolen items. Cheshire Police have issued a public appeal to identify the rightful owners of hundreds of recovered suspected stolen goods.

Detective Sergeant Fox concluded, "Nikolli, Gropcaj, Dedndreaj, Pepa, and Lleshi were all directly involved in conducting the burglaries, while Tubb willingly benefited from their illicit proceeds." The gang's methodical approach, leveraging online property platforms for criminal reconnaissance, highlights a modern evolution in organised burglary tactics.
