Blackmailed by Sex Worker: Agony Aunt's Urgent Advice to Save Marriage
Blackmailed by Sex Worker: Agony Aunt's Urgent Advice

A Daily Star reader is being blackmailed by a sex worker who threatens to tell his wife unless he pays an additional £3,000. The man, who thought he was having a regular affair, has already paid £3,000 after his lover presented him with a bill after every sexual encounter.

In her latest advice column, agony aunt Jane O'Gorman tells the reader he must confess to his wife immediately and not pay another penny. "You've done wrong, so own it," she writes, adding that he cannot be blackmailed or threatened.

Confession Urged Over Blackmail Threat

O'Gorman acknowledges the wife will be furious but insists the reader must get in first and tell her everything. She also questions why the affair started and asks whether the police need to be informed.

The reader's dilemma is one of three problems tackled in the column, which also addresses a man's desire for a threesome with his girlfriend's flatmate and a disastrous birthday party catering job.

Flatmate Obsession and Birthday Party Disaster

In the second letter, a man admits to being obsessed with his girlfriend's "gorgeous" flatmate and wants all three to have sex together. O'Gorman advises him to back off, saying fantasies are fine in his own head but the flatmate is out of bounds. She suggests he appreciate his girlfriend or find the courage to talk to her if the relationship has no future.

The third letter involves a reader who paid a friend to cater their partner's 35th birthday party. The event was a disaster, with sparse food, no cake, and guests leaving by 9pm. The reader wants a refund, but the friend refuses, and rumours are circulating that the caterer is bad-mouthing the reader.

Face-to-Face Resolution and Consumer Advice

O'Gorman advises sorting the matter face-to-face, emphasising that expectations were not met and asking for detailed receipts. She suggests checking with Trading Standards via citizensadvice.org.uk if the reader feels ripped off.

The column, published daily in the Daily Star, invites readers to write to Just Jane at One Canada Square, London, E145AP or email jane.ogorman@reachplc.com, though Jane cannot respond to individual letters and not all problems are published.
