Killer of Henry Nowak and Relatives Face New Weapons Charges

Vickrum Digwa, the 23-year-old convicted of murdering 18-year-old Henry Nowak in Southampton, has been charged with multiple weapons offences along with his father and brother. The charges relate to alleged incidents on December 4, 2025, the day after Nowak’s murder.

Details of the Charges

Vickrum Digwa faces six counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a private place. His father, Moga Digwa, 52, and brother, Gurpreet Digwa, 27, face the same charges. Gurpreet is additionally charged with one count of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, one count of possessing a prohibited weapon, and two counts of possessing a knife or bladed article in a public place, all on December 4.

The three men are scheduled to appear together at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this afternoon at 1.30pm.

Background to the Case

Vickrum Digwa was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years for stabbing Nowak six times with a religious blade. The murder occurred after Digwa falsely claimed Nowak had subjected him to racist abuse, punched him, and knocked off his turban. Police bodycam footage showed officers handcuffing Nowak while he pleaded for help, sparking public outrage.

Digwa’s mother, Kiran Kaur, 53, is awaiting sentencing for assisting an offender by removing the murder weapon from the scene. She will be sentenced on July 17.

Family Apology

In a statement issued through Sikh PA, the Digwa family apologised to the Nowak family and to the Sikh community. They said: 'The loss of a young life is a grief that no family should ever have to carry. We are deeply sorry for the pain and suffering the Nowak family has had to endure.' They added: 'We apologise to the Sikh community for our son's actions which have unfairly brought the community into disrepute.'

The family urged that the tragedy not be used to inflame division or hostility towards any community and requested privacy as they face the future.
