A court in Belfast has heard shocking allegations of how a 44-year-old woman used dating apps to pose as a medical professional and target older, vulnerable men.
The Alleged Deception
Lisa Jane Davies, from Lisburn, Northern Ireland, is accused of entering relationships with three men she met online between August 2021 and June 2024. Posing as a doctor or a nurse, she allegedly moved in with the men very quickly after meeting them.
Police told the court that Davies used multiple aliases and false employment statuses to carry out her alleged deception. In one case, she reportedly convinced a man they were married by holding a 'ceremony of commitment' that he believed was a wedding.
A Pattern of Abuse and Control
The charges against Davies are extensive. She faces two counts of criminal damage, two counts of engaging in domestic abuse, and single counts of causing actual bodily harm, intimidating a witness, fraud, theft of documents, and perverting the course of justice.
One alleged victim claimed she assaulted him but later withdrew the claim after she threatened him. Another man said Davies took blood from him and injected him with what she claimed was a flu vaccine.
The court heard she subjected one man to coercive control and actual bodily harm during a two-year relationship. She also allegedly damaged her first victim's phone and glasses.
Exploiting Her Position
While working in an administrative role for the Belfast Trust, Davies is accused of unlawfully accessing the medical records of one alleged victim, printing them, and presenting them to him.
In a separate incident, she allegedly provided false information to Sky to secure a credit agreement. She also lied to her former solicitor to obtain an emergency Non-Molestation Order, which was then served on another victim.
Lisa Jane Davies was granted bail at £750 and is scheduled to return to court on 15 December.
