A 33-year-old woman from Brest, France, has been placed in pre-trial detention following an attack on a public service officer, in a case that reveals a deeply disturbing history of familial abuse. The woman shares three children with her own 58-year-old father, who is currently imprisoned on serious sexual offence charges.
A Household of Abuse Uncovered
The shocking circumstances came to light after the Finistère Departmental Council reported concerns, prompting a police investigation. The inquiry revealed that the woman had been living with her father as a 'couple', and he is the biological father of her three children: an 11-year-old boy and eight-year-old twin girls.
During police interviews, the 58-year-old man admitted to sexually abusing his daughter over many years, including drugging her with antipsychotic medication. In a further horrifying confession, he stated he had forced his 11-year-old grandson to engage in sexual acts with his mother, the boy's own grandmother, while showing him pornographic material.
Judicial History and Latest Offence
The mother, herself a long-term victim of this abuse, was initially charged with habitual violence and corruption of a minor following her father's arrest on 26 November 2025. She was released under judicial supervision. However, she has a documented history of violence against officials, having reportedly struck a court clerk two years prior.
Her judicial supervision was revoked after she committed a new assault on a public service officer. This latest violent act led to her being remanded in pre-trial detention at Brest prison—the same facility where her father is being held.
Children in Care and Ongoing Investigations
The three children, who corroborated the accounts of abuse during interviews, have been placed into the care of social services. The boy was prescribed 30 days of temporary incapacity leave, while the twin girls were given eight days, highlighting the severe impact of their traumatic upbringing.
The father now faces formal charges of aggravated incestuous rape, corruption of a minor, and habitual violence against minors. The public prosecutor in Brest, Stéphane Kellenberger, emphasised that investigations are ongoing and those charged remain presumed innocent. Authorities continue to probe the full extent of the abuse that occurred within the family home.
