Russell Brand's wife Laura Gallacher testifies at his trial

Laura Gallacher, the wife of Russell Brand, gave emotional testimony at his trial, describing him as a caring, kind partner and a "wonderful father" to their three children, before being hurried out of the courtroom as the judge intervened over a defence question.

Gallacher's Testimony Praises Brand

During her court testimony in Brand's trial over three charges of rape, three of sexual assault and one of attempted sexual assault, Gallacher said she loves him very much and feels deeply understood by him. She highlighted his care and compassion, describing him as an amazingly attentive husband with an exceptional eye for detail who always respected her boundaries during intimate moments, saying he "respected my view" whenever she did not want to do something.

Reflecting on their dating history from 2006, she openly admitted it was difficult for him to remain monogamous, explaining that his infidelity led to their initial breakup in 2007. Speaking of their early romance, she said: "I was not experienced; I had only had one partner before Russell. I felt entirely cared for and looked after by Russell."

Judge Intervenes as Testimony Ends

Gallacher emphasised the couple's growth since reuniting in 2015, describing their marriage as having a very honest, frank, and clear foundation built carefully over time. She confirmed she had followed the proceedings closely, but before she could address the allegations directly, she was ushered out after the judge called out "No, no, no!" as he intervened over an inadmissible defence question from Brand's barrister Ian Winter KC on her opinion.
