Police have launched a manhunt after a woman was raped on a popular beach in Bournemouth. A cordon remains in place at Boscombe Beach as detectives continue their inquiries.

Dorset Police received a report that a man had raped a woman at approximately 10pm on Thursday, 7 May 2026. Officers were seen examining the waterfront and sand as the investigation continued on Friday.
The force confirmed that no arrests have been made so far. In a statement, Dorset Police said: "We received a report that a man had raped a woman on Boscombe beach at around 10pm on Thursday 7 May 2026. An investigation is underway and detectives are speaking with the victim to provide support and establish the full circumstances of the incident."
