Murder Probe After Man Missing in Chester for Four Months

Cheshire Police have launched a murder investigation and made four arrests in the case of a man who has been missing for more than four months. Martin Conway, 39, was last seen on the evening of Sunday, February 1, and into the early hours of February 2 this year in Chester city centre, the force said.

He was last seen wearing a black coat with a fur lined hood, grey jogging bottoms or black leggings with white trainers. He is described as being 5'7" in height, of a slim build, with light brown hair and blue eyes.

Extensive Enquiries Yield No Results

After 'extensive' enquiries to locate Martin have not yielded results, Cheshire Police say they have now launched a murder investigation, as officers now believe Martin 'may have come to harm' although no body has been found.

Four people have since been arrested on suspicion of murder, including a woman, 35, from Winsford and a man, 37, from Northwich, both of whom have been released on bail. A 44-year-old woman from Chester and a 23-year-old man from Chester have also been arrested on suspicion of the same offence and remain in custody.

Police Appeal for Information

Cheshire Police are urging anyone with information, 'no matter how small', to get in touch as they continue to investigate Martin's disappearance. Detective Inspector Andrea Price said: “Martin was last seen over four months ago, and during that time we have been following multiple lines of enquiries in an effort to trace him. We now believe he may have come to harm.

“Following an extensive investigation, we have now arrested four people in relation to his disappearance who are assisting us with our enquiries.

“We would continue to appeal for anyone with any information as to Martin’s disappearance to please contact us – no amount of information is too small.”
