Murder Probe After Man Dies in North London Shop Attack

Police have launched a murder investigation after Paul Heyfron, 53, died in hospital 12 days after he was assaulted inside a shop in Brook Walk, East Finchley. Officers were called by the London Ambulance Service at 10:06pm on Monday, 30 June following reports of the assault. Mr Heyfron, from East Finchley, was taken to hospital but died on Sunday, 12 July.

Victim Identified and Family Support

Mr Heyfron's family are being supported by specially trained officers. Detective Inspector Jon Moseling, the senior investigating officer, said: “Our thoughts are with Paul’s family following this tragic news. Our enquiries are continuing at pace, and we will update the community when we can.”

Appeal for Information

No arrests have been made at this stage. DI Moseling added: “I would ask anyone with any information, CCTV or doorbell camera footage which could support the investigation to contact us. We are aware of online and public speculation and I urge people not to share or engage with speculation.”
