A mother of three who died in a devastating crash in Spain is to be laid to rest this week as her husband continues to fight for his life. Amy McCullagh, from County Westmeath in Ireland, died alongside Michaela Newcombe and her brother-in-law, Mark McCullagh. The four were on holiday when their vehicle plunged 100 feet into a ravine off the A7 motorway in Malaga in the early hours of June 28.
Survivor remains critically ill
Mark's brother, Ian McCullagh, 35, who was married to Amy, sustained serious injuries but survived the catastrophic crash. He remains critically ill in hospital in Spain. The family have requested that any donations be directed to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, reports the Irish Mirror.
Funeral details announced
Amy's funeral mass will take place at the Church of the Nativity in Ballynacargy on Friday, after which she will be laid to rest at Sonna Cemetery. Amy was a mum to two daughters and a son. Her death notice read: "It is with great sadness we share the news of the death of our beloved daughter Amy, following a tragic road accident in Spain, alongside her brother-in-law Mark and his girlfriend Michaela. Amy will be forever missed and remembered by her husband Ian, daughters Ruby and Kaylee, and son Curtis."
