Greater Manchester Police have launched a manhunt after a 29-year-old man was stabbed in a car park in Royton in the early hours of Sunday, 5 July 2026. Officers were called to Rochdale Road at 2:49 a.m. following reports of a stabbing.
Victim Suffers Knife Wound
The victim sustained injuries consistent with a knife wound, but they are not believed to be life-threatening, according to a police spokesperson. He was treated at the scene and later taken to hospital for further assessment.
A police cordon was put in place at the car park outside the Co-op and Hays Travel on Rochdale Road, and officers were seen conducting inquiries on Sunday morning.
Investigation Ongoing
No arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing, and enquiries remain ongoing, the force confirmed. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: 'Officers were called to reports of a stabbing on Rochdale Road, Royton, at 2:49 a.m. this morning. A 29-year-old man sustained injuries consistent with a knife wound, however, they are not believed to be life-threatening. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.'
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. Anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the incident is urged to contact police.
