Manhunt After Attempted Murder in Paisley

Police have launched a manhunt following an attempted murder in Paisley. A 53-year-old man was left seriously injured after a violent attack on George Street in the Renfrewshire town at around 8pm on Monday, July 13. He is in a stable condition in hospital.

Police Investigation and Road Closures

Detectives locked down the scene in the Castlehead area following the murder bid. George Street, along with Lady Lane and Castle Street, remain closed as investigations continue. Local diversions are in place. Police vehicles and officers are present at the cordoned area, speaking with members of the public.

Appeal for Information

Detective Sergeant Daniel Small said: “It’s vital we trace the person responsible for this violent attack and I’m appealing for information from the public. Were you in the area at the time and saw what happened? Do you have CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage which has captured something of significance? If you have any information which could help, please get in touch.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and officers remain in the area. Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting reference 3208 of July 13. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
