Man Dies After East Finchley Shop Attack; Two Arrested

Police have released an image of Paul Heyfron, a 53-year-old man who died after being attacked in a shop in East Finchley, as a suspect is questioned on suspicion of murder.

Mr Heyfron died in hospital on Sunday, 12 July, 12 days after an assault on him inside a shop on Brook Walk in the north London neighbourhood. Emergency services were called just after 10pm on Monday, 30 June, following reports of the attack.

Arrests Made in Murder Investigation

Detectives arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of murder at an address in Lewisham, southeast London, on Friday. A woman, aged 47, was also arrested at the same location on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both remain in custody at a London police station.

The victim’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers.

Police Appeal for Information

Detective Inspector Jon Moseling, the Senior Investigating Officer, said: “Our thoughts remain with Paul’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time. This is a significant update in our investigation, however our enquiries continue to establish the circumstances of this tragic incident.”
