Nico de Carvalho Wilson, 24, has been charged with murder, manslaughter and violent disorder in connection with the death of John Soyoye. The charges follow his detention in Portugal in March and his extradition to the UK on Tuesday (October 13).
Court appearance
Wilson appeared at Manchester Magistrates Court on Wednesday (October 14). His next court appearance is expected to be at Manchester Crown Court on Friday (October 16).
Investigation into 2020 stabbing
John Soyoye, who was 16 years old, was stabbed to death in Moston on November 5, 2020. So far this year, four other men have been detained, extradited, and charged in connection with the investigation into his death.
