Man charged with murder after woman's death in Bolton

Joseph Webb, 36, of Yewdale Avenue, has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Bolton. He has been remanded into custody, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said.

Incident details

Police were called to Yewdale Avenue in the Breightmet area at around 3.15am on Tuesday, August 4. They found a woman, aged in her 30s, who was unresponsive and had significant injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A murder investigation was launched by Greater Manchester Police.

Court appearance

Webb was due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Thursday, August 6.

In a statement, GMP said: "We have charged a man in relation to the death of a woman in Bolton on Tuesday 4 August 2026. Officers were called to an address on Yewdale Avenue, Bolton at around 3:15am. Upon attendance, they located a woman, aged in her 30s, unresponsive with significant injuries. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Joseph Webb (30/08/1989) of Yewdale avenue has been charged with murder and remanded in custody, due to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on 6 August 2026."
