A drunk woman who exposed herself in front of passengers on a TUI flight and forced the aircraft to divert to Manchester now faces a possible jail term. Sarah Parker, 30, ignored the pilot's instructions when she left her seat to use the toilet during take-off on the flight from Birmingham to Florida.
A court heard how she then pulled down her shorts and underwear in the aisle in full view of other travellers. The disruption forced the flight to divert to Manchester Airport, with the cost of the diversion to TUI estimated at around £20,000.
Guilty pleas and court referral
Parker, from Halifax, previously pleaded guilty to outraging public decency. She also admitted being drunk on board an aircraft and failing to comply with the pilot's instructions, according to Yorkshire Live.
The incident took place on the TUI flight to Florida in the USA on July 24, 2025. The case first appeared before magistrates in Manchester, who concluded their sentencing powers were insufficient for the severity of the case and referred it to crown court.
Sentencing scheduled
Parker is due to be sentenced at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on December 1.
