CEO Neil Muller Stabbed to Death in £2.5m Home

A man found dead with stab wounds at his £2.5 million family home in a quiet Warwickshire village has been identified as Neil Muller. The 54-year-old CEO of technology firm Node4 suffered fatal stab wounds to his chest early on Sunday morning.

Arrest and Investigation

A 55-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder approximately one hour after Mr Muller was discovered at his gated, five-bedroom property in the village of Claverdon. She has since been released on bail pending further inquiries. Paramedics arrived at the scene at 6:15 am, but Mr Muller was pronounced dead at 6:37 am. Warwickshire Police confirmed that the woman, from Birmingham, was taken into custody at 7:33 am.

Tributes from Node4

Mr Muller had recently been appointed as CEO of Node4, a leading technology firm. In a statement, a company spokesperson expressed deep sorrow: "We are absolutely devastated by the death of our CEO Neil Muller. Although Neil only recently joined Node4, he made a meaningful impact in a short space of time. He brought real energy, momentum and passion to the business, and his loss will be deeply felt by people across Node4 and the wider industry. Our thoughts are with Neil's family, our colleagues and everyone who knew Neil at this very difficult time."

Career and Community Involvement

Mr Muller joined Node4 in April of this year, having previously served as head of MSP Digital Space for seven years. He was also deeply involved in local football, managing Claverdon FC. He retired as assistant manager of the men's team in 2024 but remained a sponsor and active supporter.

His father, Brian Muller, 81, told the Daily Mail: "It's a peculiar situation, we are still waiting to hear what happened. I had a phone call from the police at 9am on Monday morning to say Neil had died but we've not been told anything else. We've not had a visit from the police or anything, so we just don't know. We only spoke on the phone last week, but sometimes we go a few months without hearing from him. He's a busy man with work."

Community Shock

Locals have expressed shock at the incident. One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "Neil did a lot for the local football club. I heard about it in the village shop this morning. It is a real shock and a real loss to the village." Police remained at the scene on Tuesday.

Mr Muller's death occurred the night after an end-of-season award ceremony held at the Red Lion pub, according to locals, though it is not known if he attended. Club chairman Charlie Waterworth said: "I have heard the news but it is just too early to be making any statements. I am out of the country. I don't know the circumstances. It would be wrong to say anything." A worker at the Red Lion pub added: "It has come as a massive shock and we really don't want to say anything. It is too early."
