Detectives are appealing for information following an attempted murder in Wishaw. Around 1.30pm on Monday, August 17, police were called to a report of a man found seriously injured after being attacked by men with weapons in Wingate Street, Craigneuk.
Suspects fled in grey SUV
The suspects, who were all wearing black balaclavas, made off from the scene in a grey SUV. Emergency services rushed to attend and a 31-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police appeal for witnesses
Detective Inspector Vicki Douglas is appealing for anyone in the local area with information to come forward. She said: “We believe this was a targeted attack on the victim and extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and identify those involved.
“We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened, or noticed a vehicle driving off at speed, to come forward.
“We would be particularly keen to hear from members of the public with private CCTV or dashcam footage which could be of significance.”
