Newly emerged emails show Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, visited convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein twice while he was still serving his prison sentence for child prostitution in 2009. The meetings took place in April and May at Epstein's Palm Beach office, which he had set up for a bogus firm to secure work release while incarcerated.
Epstein's Conviction and Work Release
Epstein was convicted in 2008 of soliciting prostitution from a minor and soliciting prostitution, serving 13 months of an 18-month sentence before release on July 22, 2009. He then spent a year on probation under house arrest until August 2010. During his imprisonment, Epstein gained access to a work release programme that allowed him to leave his cell for up to 12 hours daily.
Emails Reveal Ferguson's Requests
According to documents discovered by The Telegraph within the Epstein files, Ferguson visited Epstein on two occasions at the Palm Beach office of the fake company he invented for work release. In an email dated April 4, 2009, Ferguson asked Epstein for a 'quick cup of tea' during a layover in Florida. She wrote: 'Hello Jeffrey. I am landing in Palm Beach in a couple of hours. Is there any chance on my quick layover, that I can get to have a quick cup of tea…' She signed the email with 'Love Sarah The red Head.!!'
Epstein responded on April 6, giving her the address and phone number of the office, which he described as 'ten minutes' from the airport. He complimented her appearance and said he had read 'everything' she had given him, referring to documents about Ferguson's Mother's Army initiative, an online network launched the next year to connect women in need.
Ferguson's Affectionate Language
On April 11, Ferguson replied: 'My dear spectacular and special friend Jeffrey. You are a legend, and I am so proud of you. Thank you for looking after me so well.' She visited Epstein again on May 13, 2009, picked up by Epstein's driver and accompanied by Martin Huberty, her then chief of staff. In an email the day before, she wrote: 'I am coming into Palm Beach to see you on Wednesday I land at 9.30am. Can your brilliant [driver] pick me up, bring me to you, The Great one!! And then take me to Miami!??? Please with roses on top! Love, Me. Xxx'
No Comment from Ferguson
Ferguson has not commented on the details from the latest batch of Epstein files released earlier this year by the US. Being mentioned in the Epstein files does not indicate wrongdoing. The former Duchess has lost her royal title due to her links to Epstein.
