Greater Manchester Police have issued an update following a stabbing that left a man seriously injured in Rochdale. The incident occurred on Spotland Road just before 7.20pm on Tuesday, June 16.
Arrests Made in Connection with the Stabbing
Two individuals were arrested in connection with the stabbing. A woman was taken into custody on suspicion of section 18 assault but has since been released on bail pending further inquiries. A man also arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault has been released without any further action taken against him.
Details of the Incident
The victim, a man, sustained serious injuries consistent with a knife wound and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Emergency services, including a large police presence and paramedics, responded to the scene after reports of a suspected stabbing.
Spotland Road was cordoned off in both directions near Mitchell Street on Tuesday night. Forensic investigators were observed collecting evidence, including photographs, and a property on Mitchell Street was searched. Debris, including a bloodied towel, was visible within the cordon. Officers and detectives conducted inquiries in the area.
