A man in his 20s was also found outside the property with stab injuries, and police are awaiting an update on his condition. A 44-year-old man matching the suspect's description was quickly located nearby and arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

The arrested man was taken to hospital with injuries believed to have been sustained from jumping out of a window. London Ambulance Service also attended the scene following the emergency call at 7:55 am. Despite efforts from emergency services, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo described the incident as "shocking" and said: "This is a shocking incident which has tragically resulted in one woman losing her life and another man in hospital with injuries. Our thoughts at this time are with both victims and their loved ones, who are being supported by specialist officers."

Investigation and Community Impact

DCI Bhangoo added: "Our enquiries are in the early stages but we do not believe there to be any wider threat to the public. However, we are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything or who has any information that could assist our investigation. We know this incident will have caused significant concern in the community and residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days."

A large area around the property was cordoned off on Sunday afternoon, with a dozen police officers on site. A forensic tent was set up on Uxbridge Road, next to a car, as forensic officers carried out searches and reviewed documents nearby.

Witness Account

A 67-year-old woman who lives on Belmore Avenue, behind Uxbridge Road, told the Press Association she had "never seen anything like it." The woman, who did not wish to be named, said: "It's scary what happened, and it's scary seeing the police, tent and everything. I've lived here for 12 years and I've never seen anything like it. It's safe usually, I feel safe."
