Kickboxer Tyler Ford Charged with Murder After Swansea Crash

Nine-time world champion kickboxer Tyler Ford has been charged with the murder of 18-year-old Ceiran Evans following a fatal road collision in Swansea. Ford appeared at Swansea Crown Court accused of killing Evans, from Gorseinon, and faces an additional charge of attempted murder of a second individual. South Wales Police confirmed that an unnamed 19-year-old male remains hospitalized.

Incident Details

The charges stem from an incident involving a car and an off-road bike on Pen Cae Crwn Road, Gorseinon, on July 9. Ford, from Morriston, Swansea, attended a brief administrative hearing solely to confirm his identity and was not required to enter any pleas. Judge Paul Thomas KC scheduled a plea and case management hearing for September 29, with a two-week trial set to commence on January 11, 2027.

Remand and Family Tribute

Remanding Ford into custody, the judge stated: "The next hearing will be September 29 and the defendant will of course remain in custody." Evans' family paid a heartfelt tribute on Monday, July 13, vowing their "precious baby boy" would always be "remembered." They said: "Ceiran was loved more than any words can say and will be missed every single day. His kind heart, wicked sense of humour, loving nature, and handsome smile brought so much joy to everyone who knew him. He will forever be our precious baby boy; always loved, always remembered, and never forgotten."

Police Appeal

Speaking on Friday, July 10, Detective Chief Inspector Danielle Thorne, of the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: "The family of Ceiran Evans has been updated on developments and they continue to have our support at this most immensely distressing time. We ask that their privacy is respected. While we have charged an individual, which is highly significant, our enquiries are continuing at pace and would appeal for anyone with information to please contact us." She added: "I would once again like to thank the people of Gorseinon who have supported officers both at the scene and come forward with information. It is very much appreciated. We are aware of social media footage circulating from this incident, and we once again ask that this is not shared for obvious reasons." Those who witnessed the incident or possess video evidence can reach South Wales Police through their online portal.
