Cole Turley, 18, who was jailed for the murder of 16-year-old Kayden Moy at Irvine beach, has lodged an appeal against his minimum 16-year sentence. The appeal was filed on August 4, weeks after Turley was sentenced alongside Jay Stewart, 19, and a 15-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons, following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow last month. Kayden's family received the news via email.
Car Firebomb Attack in Dumbarton
Police are investigating after a car was firebombed on Glencairn Road in Dumbarton. Emergency services were alerted at around 1:25am on Tuesday morning. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the blaze, and no injuries were reported. Shocking footage shows a Mazda CX-30 engulfed in flames outside a row of houses.
Wife of Athens Murder Suspect Speaks
The wife of Sharif Ahmadzai, accused of killing Scottish woman Elisabeth-Jane Ross, has revealed she suspected her husband due to his "strange" behaviour. Ross, 38, from Edinburgh, was found dead in a suitcase in a derelict building in Athens on July 18. Ahmadzai, 26, has been charged with homicide with intent. His wife, Alaina Hall, told police she became increasingly worried after being unable to contact her friend.
Tributes for Mum Found Dead
Tributes have poured in for Nichola Anderson, 26, a mum-of-five found dead at her home on Forglen Crescent in Turriff. Police were called at around 10:05am on Thursday, July 30, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police Scotland say her death is being treated as unexplained but not believed to be suspicious.
Boyfriend Killer's Latest Freedom Bid
Tasmin Glass, 27, who killed her boyfriend Steven Donaldson, will appear before the Parole Board for Scotland on August 12. This will be her seventh appearance since being jailed for ten years in 2019. Steven's father Bill said: "For us, the nightmare continues. We just wonder how long this is going to go on for. She continues to show an extraordinary level of disrespect and disregard for the authorities along with a shocking level of arrogance."
