British tourists are being urged to use a new airport feature that could save time when flying. Across the UK, some airlines now offer a service where passengers can drop off their luggage the night before they fly, allowing travellers to reach the airport without their bags and cut queues at luggage drop-off.
Birmingham Airport Updates Twilight Check-In
Birmingham Airport has shared updated information on its twilight check-in services, reminding people to use the facility. Passengers are advised to refer to terminal screens on arrival to confirm the check-in desk for their airline's twilight service.
Normally, passengers must arrive at their departure airport around two to three hours before their flight, depending on the destination. Queuing at check-in desks for boarding passes and luggage drop-off can add significant time to the airport experience. With this service, passengers can head straight for security and their departure gate instead.
How the Service Works
For anyone looking to use twilight check-in, passengers need to confirm whether their airport and airline offer the service. Some airlines require all passengers to be present, whereas others just request passports and boarding passes for each passenger.
The service is offered at other UK airports, including Heathrow, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Newcastle and Manchester.
