One person has died after two freight trains crashed on a railway bridge in Germany overnight, sending two carriages plunging off the bridge and onto the street below, officials said.
Crash Details
The crash occurred in Munich's northern district of Milbertshofen, with emergency services alerted at 1:40 a.m. CEST (12:40 a.m. BST). Around 60 first responders were dispatched to the scene, according to a fire department spokesperson.

Impact and Response
The wagons fell about 16 feet from the bridge, dpa reported. Munich police closed the street beneath the bridge and urged drivers to avoid the area while recovery and clearing operations are carried out.
According to dpa, the derailed wagons were not carrying any cargo, and there was no threat to public safety. No other injuries were reported.
