While some viewers claimed to "switch off" the programme, others felt it was Lulu who truly stole the show. The legendary Scottish singer graced the stage to perform her own James Bond song, The Man with the Golden Gun. Fans wasted no time in sharing their thoughts on social media, with one frustrated viewer writing, "Nope, I'm out."
Someone else wrote, "Just reading comments with #BBCProms Thank god I turned it off!" "Well, I think we can all agree that there's an hour and a half we won't get back. #BBCProms," a third added. Another shared, "Great orchestra. Brilliant songs. They're singing live, and to be honest, could never match the originals, but the vocals are way off. Such a shame. Best performance? - Lulu."

Introducing the programme, host Nick Mohammed joked, "Tonight, we provided the illustrious leader of our special operation with a short wooden stick, but when aimed in a particular direction, is able to do this. May I present the man with the golden baton." Putting his name in the hat to be the next James Bond, the comedian added, "I will say, while a decision hasn't yet been made about who's going to be the next James Bond, I am kind of seeing this as my audition."
