The headline introduction is the MG4 EV Urban, a cut-price version of the brand's successful electric hatchback designed to make EV ownership more accessible. Priced from just £23,495 for the Comfort Standard Range model, the Urban represents MG's commitment to delivering genuinely affordable electric driving without compromising on practicality.
Despite its lower price point, the MG4 Urban is much more than simply a cheaper version of the standard MG4. The model features a completely new exterior design inspired by MG's Cyberster sports car and adopts front-wheel drive in a slightly smaller package than its sibling.
Pricing and Specifications
The Urban lineup offers three distinct variants to suit different budgets and requirements. The entry-level Comfort Standard Range starts at £23,495, while the Comfort Long Range is priced at £25,495. For those seeking additional features, the Premium Long Range version tops the Urban range at £27,995.
MG has emphasised that the Urban retains the space and practicality that helped make the original MG4 one of the UK's best-selling electric cars, though specific range and performance figures for the new model have yet to be officially confirmed.

Alongside the Urban's debut, MG has implemented substantial upgrades across the entire MG4 EV range for the 2026 model year. The revisions focus on strengthening areas most valued by customers while introducing technological improvements and enhanced interior materials.

The updated MG4 EV range now begins with the Premium Long Range model, starting from £29,995 – representing a significant £2,750 reduction compared to the outgoing version. Above this sits the Premium Extended Range, priced from £32,995, which offers an impressive 338 miles of range according to MG's claims.
MG asserts that this makes the Premium Extended Range one of the longest-range new electric cars available in the UK at its price point. The performance-focused dual-motor MG4 EV XPOWER remains at the top of the lineup, priced at £33,995.
