Three lanes on the M6 southbound are closed following a crash, with traffic queuing between junction 23 East Lancashire Road in Haydock and junction 22 Winwick Link Road in Newton-le-Willows.

An earlier post from the Inrix traffic monitoring service said: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident on M6 Southbound between J23 A580 East Lancashire Road (Haydock) and J22 A49 Winwick Link Road (Newton Le Willows)."
An update reads: "Queueing traffic and three lanes closed due to accident on M6 Southbound between J23 A580 East Lancashire Road (Haydock) and J22 A49 Winwick Link Road (Newton Le Willows)."
