M25 Crash Causes 90-Minute Delays and 10-Mile Queues

A serious multi-vehicle collision on the M25 has led to extensive delays, with one person taken to hospital with serious injuries. The crash, which occurred between junctions 13 and 12 near Staines, involved three vehicles, two of which caught fire. Surrey Fire and Rescue Service sent four fire engines to the scene, and the fire has since been extinguished.

National Highways reported delays of up to 90 minutes and queues stretching 10 miles from junction 16 to the crash site. The incident has also affected traffic on the M4. Two lanes remain closed anti-clockwise between junction 13 and junction 12 to allow for recovery work, while two lanes have been reopened.

Two patients were taken to St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey by ambulance crews from the South East Coast Ambulance Service. Surrey Police confirmed one person sustained serious injuries. The crash occurred just before 2pm on 11 April, exacerbating rush hour congestion.
