Jet2 has confirmed a price rule for all customers booking flights and holidays, guaranteeing they will not face fuel surcharges. The budget airline announced earlier this year that it would not introduce surcharges on any booked flights or holidays to cover rising fuel costs.
The pledge means that the price customers book for flights and holidays is the price they will pay, removing the fear of extra charges after booking. Jet2 has now repeated its promise as demand for winter breaks increases.
Guarantee applies across all booking channels
The airline said its No Fuel Surcharges guarantee gives customers added confidence when booking their winter 2026/27 flights and holidays. The policy applies to all Jet2 flights and holidays booked through any channel, including online, via mobile app, contact centre or an independent travel agent.
Jet2 added that the policy does not include tourist taxes, which are payable in resort at the time of the holiday and are paid directly to the accommodation provider. The renewed price commitment comes as millions of people plan their winter sun, city, Christmas market and ski breaks.
Commitment reaffirmed for all seasons
David Hills, Chief Customer Officer at Jet2, said: “Customers work and save hard for their holidays, so they deserve certainty from the moment they book. As they plan their getaways this winter and beyond, we are reaffirming our No Fuel Surcharges guarantee and making it clear that the price customers book with Jet2 is the price they will pay, with no fuel surcharge added later.”
“That reassurance applies to all customers booking with Jet2, whatever time of year they choose to travel, making now the perfect time to book that well-deserved holiday.”
Jet2 was the first UK airline and tour operator to make a commitment to no fuel surcharges earlier in the year, removing the surcharge provision across all flights and holidays even though it had never previously applied one. While winter is the focus of the renewed reassurance, the guarantee continues to apply to all flights and holidays across all seasons on sale, including Summer 2027, Winter 2027/28 and Summer 2028.
Fuel prices and travel advice
The conflict in the Middle East, which has led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping lane that once carried a fifth of global oil and gas, has sent oil prices soaring since the US-Israeli war on Iran began.
The Department for Transport (DfT) said earlier this year that it is “closely monitoring” UK jet fuel stocks and assured holidaymakers there is “no current need to change upcoming travel plans”. Passengers with flights or holidays booked have been advised to check with their airlines before travelling and ensure they have appropriate travel insurance.
The DfT also said in April that airlines will no longer be required to follow the “use it or lose it” rule at UK airports, whereby airlines must use at least 80% of their allocated slots during a season to keep them for the following year. This will make it easier for airlines to cancel flights without running the risk of losing their allocated slots if fuel shortages prevent them from flying.
