Jet2 Advises Passengers to Check Flight Info 12 Hours Before Departure
Jet2: Check Flight Info 12 Hours Before Departure

Jet2 has issued a reminder to all passengers to check their flight information at least 12 hours before departure, as the busy summer travel season gets underway. The airline, which is one of the UK's largest carriers, advises travellers to visit the 'latest travel information' section of its website for updates.

Guidance for Passengers

According to Jet2's website, passengers should “please check this section of the website at least 12 hours before your flight for the latest flight information.” The notice adds that further details can be found by entering the flight number or route in the search panel. Jet2 recommends arriving at the airport at least two hours before the scheduled departure time, and reminds travellers that check-in desks close 40 minutes before departure.

In the event of disruption, Jet2 states: “Our dedicated Operations teams are working hard behind the scenes at our UK-based HQ to get you on your way as soon as possible.”

Destinations and New Routes

Jet2 operates from 14 UK airports, including London Gatwick, London Luton, London Stansted, Liverpool John Lennon, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds Bradford, Belfast, East Midlands, Birmingham, Bristol, and Bournemouth. The airline flies to over 75 destinations across Europe, with a strong presence in Spain, Turkey, and Greece.

New routes have been announced, including services to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt from 2027, and Thassos in Greece and Enfidha-Hammamet in Tunisia from next year.

Post-Brexit Travel Regulations

All UK travellers are reminded that since Brexit, new rules apply for travel to Europe. Passports must have a date of issue within 10 years of the arrival date. If a passport was renewed before 1 October 2018, it may have a date of issue exceeding 10 years, making it invalid for Schengen area entry, which includes Spain.

British passport holders are limited to 90 days in the Schengen area within any 180-day period. Additionally, the new Entry/Exit System (EES) requires passengers to scan their passport, have a photograph taken, and scan four fingerprints when entering the Schengen area. EES applies to Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
