The Jeep Avenger is receiving a mid-life refresh for 2026, bringing a sharper design, enhanced technology, and a special 85th Anniversary edition to the brand's smallest SUV. UK orders are expected to open in late summer, with pricing and full trim details to be announced closer to launch.
Powertrain and Range
Mirroring the pre-facelift model, the fully electric Avenger continues with a 54kWh battery pack and a 154bhp electric motor, delivering a claimed range of up to 248 miles on the WLTP cycle. Rapid charging capability remains at up to 100kW, while 11kW AC charging is also supported. This update solidifies the Avenger's position as a key model for Jeep in Europe, having been named European Car of the Year in 2023 and becoming the brand's best-selling model in the region. Over 270,000 units have been sold since launch, with electrified variants accounting for 60% of sales.
Design and Styling
The most prominent visual change is at the front, where the iconic seven-slot grille now features LED backlighting on higher trims, enhancing nighttime recognition and aligning the Avenger's look with the larger Jeep Compass. New front and rear bumpers, along with fresh 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheel designs, contribute to a more modern appearance. The wheel centre caps now bear a stylised image of the original Willys Jeep. Two new paint colours, Forest and Bamboo, join the existing palette of Granite, Ruby, Snow, Storm, and Volcano. A black roof option remains available.
Interior Upgrades
Inside, Jeep has focused on improving material quality and ambiance. Door panels now feature softer materials, and the lower dashboard gains a padded insert. The Selec-Terrain control dial, which allows drivers to select driving modes for various surfaces, now boasts a red, rubber-coated surround for easier operation – a detail borrowed from the new Compass.
Technology Enhancements
The updated Avenger introduces LED matrix headlights that automatically adapt the beam based on speed and traffic conditions, improving visibility without dazzling other road users. A new front-facing camera enables a 360-degree surround-view system displayed on the central touchscreen, simplifying parking and manoeuvring in tight spaces.
Off-Road Credentials
Despite its city-friendly size, the Avenger retains Jeep's off-road DNA. Ground clearance measures up to 210mm, with approach, breakover, and departure angles of up to 22, 21, and 35 degrees, respectively. Selec-Terrain and Hill Descent Control are standard across the range, including front-wheel-drive versions.
Model Line-Up
The wider Avenger range encompasses e-Hybrid, petrol, and 4xe models. The fully electric version remains the only plug-in variant. The 4xe combines a front petrol engine with a rear electric motor for all-wheel drive, but it is not a plug-in hybrid.
Standard Equipment
Standard features across the updated Avenger include full-LED front lights with automatic high beam, keyless start, cruise control, and automatic climate control. A 10.25-inch infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with over-the-air updates for future enhancements. The Jeep app allows owners to monitor battery level, schedule charging, and precondition the cabin remotely.
Practicality
Boot capacity stands at up to 380 litres, accessed via a 1-metre-wide tailgate. A reversible cargo floor features a washable surface on one side. Jeep also claims up to 34 litres of interior storage space.
85th Anniversary Special Edition
The limited-run 85th Anniversary edition adds gold-finished bumpers and wheels, anniversary logos, a tartan bonnet decal, and seats with tartan trim and '85th Anniversary' embroidery. It comes standard with LED matrix headlights, LED fog lamps, and the 360-degree camera system.
UK pricing for the updated Avenger has yet to be confirmed; the current model starts from £29,999. Full details, including the 85th Anniversary edition, will be released closer to the summer order book opening.
