Heathrow Disruption After Pepper Spray Assault in Terminal 3 Car Park

An incident at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 3 multi-storey car park has caused major disruption for travellers. Metropolitan Police were called at 8:11am following reports of multiple people being assaulted.

Police believe a number of individuals were sprayed with what is thought to be pepper spray by a group of men who then fled the scene. Armed response officers arrested one man on suspicion of assault, and he remains in custody. Enquiries are ongoing to trace further suspects.

London Ambulance Service attended and took victims to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening. Commander Peter Stevens stated the incident involved a group known to each other, with an argument escalating. It is not being treated as terrorism.

Heathrow Airport has advised passengers to allow extra time and check with their airlines. Terminal 3 remains open, but there is traffic disruption in the area. Train services, including the Elizabeth line and Heathrow Express, have been affected, with cancellations expected until around midday.
