The family of a 16-year-old girl have spoken of their profound grief after she died following an incident at a London Underground station in Essex.
A Tragic Incident at Loughton Station
British Transport Police (BTP) were called to Loughton Underground station just after 2.30pm on Monday, 20 December 2025, following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Emergency services, including paramedics, attended to the teenager, Daisy House, at the scene. Despite their immediate and extensive efforts, she was later pronounced dead in hospital.
A Family's Heartbreaking Tribute
In a moving statement released through the police, Daisy's family remembered their daughter as a vibrant young woman with a promising future. "On Monday, our beautiful daughter Daisy lost her life," they said. "She was a bright, beautiful, clever, and funny girl who had just started Sixth Form and had her whole future ahead of her."
The family expressed their deep gratitude to the emergency services who responded to the incident. They specifically thanked the paramedics, doctors, a British Transport Police officer, and paediatric nurses for their efforts to save Daisy and for the kindness shown to the family during the ordeal.
Requests for Privacy and Respect
The family also acknowledged the outpouring of public support they have received since the tragedy. "We thank everyone who has sent best wishes, kind messages, and floral tributes," their statement continued. They have now asked for privacy as they attempt to navigate their devastating loss, stating: "We would now ask for our privacy to be respected while we come to terms with the loss of our Daisy and what life will be like without our daughter."
British Transport Police have echoed this request, urging the public and media to respect the family's privacy during this immensely difficult time. The circumstances surrounding the incident are not believed to be suspicious, though investigations by BTP are standard procedure following such events on the railway network.
The death of Daisy House has sent shockwaves through the local community in Essex, highlighting the profound dangers associated with railway infrastructure. It serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of safety on the transport network.
