Elizabeth Line faces all-day disruption after track fault
Elizabeth Line all-day disruption after track fault

Elizabeth line journeys are set to be hampered all day after a track fault, causing severe delays on the route. Commuters travelling on the Lizzie line are warned to expect delays today after the track issue in west London.

The line is experiencing severe delays between London Paddington station and Heathrow Terminals T4 and T5, and Reading, the latest TfL travel status shows.

Speed restriction at Hayes & Harlington

National Rail said: 'A speed restriction over a defective track at Hayes & Harlington means trains will run at a reduced speed on some lines. Trains running between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminals / Reading may be revised.'

'Disruption is expected until the end of the day.'

Passenger frustration on social media

Commuters aired their frustration on social media after the disruption began to affect trains shortly before 7am.

One passenger said: 'TfL Elizabeth line AGAIN!! No trains same as Saturday this is getting a daily issue. Honeymoon period well and truly over!! Sort it out please!'

Another person said on X: 'Why does the Elizabeth line seem to have constant issues that cause trains to constantly be cancelled? And if trains are cancelled, surely the ones that run should stop at all stops? The absolute worst line.'

Ticket acceptance arrangements

Passengers with tickets can use them at no extra cost on the London Underground, buses between Paddington and Heathrow terminals and West Drayton, South Western Railway between Waterloo and Reading, and Great Western Railway (GWR) between Paddington and Reading.
