Uniworld has unveiled the first images of two new luxury river cruise ships, SS Audrey and SS Marlene, dedicated to screen icons Audrey Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich. These vessels are part of a fleet expansion, with the first two set to launch in 2027, offering five-star service and boutique hotel-style designs.
Inspired by Iconic Actresses
The SS Audrey draws inspiration from Hepburn's timeless style and mid-20th-century Europe, featuring interiors with a palette of greens, golds, and blues. Artistic tributes to the actress will be displayed throughout the 154-guest ship. Similarly, the SS Marlene pays homage to German-born actress and singer Marlene Dietrich, blending warm tan and gold tones with pink, red, and blue in select spaces.
Luxury Amenities and Features
Both ships aim to provide a super ship experience with higher staff-to-guest ratios and thoughtful details. The SS Audrey will include an intimate aft bar lounge, a bookable private dining room, and the ability to combine suites for spacious two-bedroom accommodations. The SS Marlene will feature a restaurant, lounge, private dining room, spa, and fitness centre.
Inaugural Sailings and Pricing
The SS Audrey is scheduled to begin sailing on 16 April 2027, with its inaugural departure on the "Remarkable Rhine & Historic Holland" itinerary, starting from £3,104 per person. The SS Marlene will debut on 27 March 2027, with its first voyage on the "Tulips & Windmills" itinerary, priced from £3,419 per person.
Additional Fleet Expansions
Beyond these two ships, Uniworld will also launch the SS São Rafael in 2027, a 94-capacity super ship for Portugal's Douro River. The fleet will further expand with the Aqua Blu, a yacht operated in partnership with Aqua Expeditions, offering access to Indonesian islands and Singapore for up to 30 guests.
Ellen Bettridge, president and chief executive of Uniworld, stated: "One-of-a-kind design has always been central to the Uniworld experience. With the SS Audrey and SS Marlene, we're celebrating two women whose style defined an era. These ships bring their spirit to life through thoughtful details and spaces created to deepen our guests' connection to the destinations along the journey."
